We are focused on academic innovators seeking to deploy their discoveries into the world for positive social impact. Importantly, we do not require that the innovator leave academia to launch and participate in a new venture.

Target deep technology fields include, but are not limited to:

• ClimateTech – broadly understood as innovations that help combat climate change and/or mitigate its effects.

• AI for Good – broadly construed as applications that use AI for positive social impact and/or to address the risks or negative externalities of AI.

Target innovations are at the pre-venture or recent venture formation stage, ready to explore commercialization and generally before any outside seed funding. AIC will engage even before a decision has been made to launch a new venture, helping an academic innovator explore the possibilities.

We favor innovations where AIC support can make the most impact, acting as a catalyst.
